Magic Johnson has congratulated Michael Jordan after 23XI Racing made NASCAR history to begin the 2026 season.

Johnson wrote on social media: “I want to congratulate my friend Michael Jordan once again!

“His 23XI Racing team won its 3rd straight NASCAR race to start the 2026 season, making NASCAR history.”

Reddick’s victory means he has won the opening three races of the NASCAR Cup Series season, including the Daytona 500. It is the first 3-0 start in modern series history.

The streak also makes 23XI Racing the first team since 1963 to sweep the opening three events on the schedule.

For Jordan, who co-owns the team, it represents another milestone in his post-NBA career.

Jordan was quick to praise both Reddick and the wider organisation for 23XI’s recent success.

“Look, I just put up the money… Tyler did a good job. He beat some good competition. I’m proud of the team we put together,” he said.

“I think Denny’s done an unbelievable job in terms of helping build this team. That’s what it’s about. Winning.”

Jordan also acknowledged the pressure on Reddick’s shoulders heading into the third race.

“Tyler came in with the most pressure, I guess… Everybody expected him, or he had a chance to win three in a row. That’s the hardest one to win.”

With momentum firmly on their side, 23XI Racing have set the tone for the 2026 season.
