Magic PG D.J. Augustin aiding New Orleans medical staff amid COVID-19 outbreak

Orlando Magic point guard D.J. Augustin is doing his part to help the community amid the coronavirus outbreak sweeping the world.

Augustin, who grew up in New Orleans, now is aiding his hometown medical staffers by feeding them, saving restaurants and employing out of work musicians.

Augustin lived in New Orleans until his senior year of high school before he and his family were forced to evacuate due to Hurricane Katrina. Donating to numerous charities in the New Orleans area is of big importance to Augustin. The now 32-year-old then moved to Houston, where he finished his high school basketball career.

Augustin was drafted by the Charlotte Bobcats ninth overall in the 2008 NBA Draft and has played for eight different teams over his 12-year career.
