The Orlando Magic have withdrawn their qualifying offer for three-time Slam Dunk champion Mac McClung, per Keith Smith of Spotrac and Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel.

The move makes McClung an unrestricted free agent. Per Smith, the Magic made the decision to allow him to pursue other opportunities without being a restricted free agent.

McClung, 26, spent the entire past season on a two-way deal, appearing in just two NBA games. He fared well in the G League, averaging 23.0 points, 5.4 assists in 44 games with the Osceola Magic.

He was named All-G League First Team, one year after winning G League MVP honors. As for the NBA, McClung’s issue is likely size, as he’s 6-foot-2 but primarily plays shooting guard.

Overall, McClung has appeared in six NBA games with the Magic, Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers in three years. He’s eligible to be signed to a two-way contract for just one more season.

Orlando now has two two-way slots available. Shooting guard Ethan Thompson occupies the other.

The Magic recently acquired Desmond Bane in a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies, signed Tyus Jones and drafted Jase Richardson, and in the words of Beede, has “guards galore.”
