The 2022 NBA Draft is just a few days away, and at this point, the team with the first-overall pick typically knows who they are selecting.
But, apparently, the Orlando Magic are still undecided when it comes to who that player is.
"I tell you, it's still early in the process," Magic president Jeff Weltman said on Monday, via ESPN.
Now, this could be looked at in a couple of different ways. It's possible Orlando is considering trading down from the first-overall pick and wants to hear all the offers made by other teams first. Since it isn't uncommon for a team to trade down at the last minute, it isn't all that odd that the Magic are still listening to offers.
"Dialogue is always ongoing," Weltman said, adding: "But most importantly, we get to do what we want. That's the real benefit of having the No. 1 pick."
It is also possible the Magic have their hearts set on a No. 1 pick and just don't want to reveal who it is. Auburn product Jabari Smith has been tied to the Magic since they won the NBA Draft Lottery. However, as Bleacher Report and other outlets point out, rumors Orlando is also interested in Chet Holmgren have picked up steam.

Not surprisingly, Weltman wouldn't comment on the players linked to his team.
"It's confirmed that there are a lot of talented players at the top of this draft, that's for sure," Weltman told ESPN.
The 2022 NBA Draft kicks off on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
