The Orlando Magic, Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings are considered landing spots for NBA forward Kelly Oubre Jr. of the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Sixers are looking to trade Oubre Jr., who will make $8.4 million next season in the final year of his deal.
NBA writer Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report thinks Oubre Jr. makes sense on the Magic, Warriors, Nuggets or Kings.
Orlando lost to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2025 playoffs in five games, Golden State lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round in five games, Denver lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round in seven games and Sacramento missed the playoffs.
Oubre Jr. appeared in 60 games for the Sixers last season. He averaged 15.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks while shooting 47.0% from the field, 29.3% from beyond the arc and 75.1% from the free-throw line.
“The 6’8″, 29-year-old forward is on a very movable $8.4 million expiring contract, and he averaged 15.1 points last season,” Bailey wrote. “Despite an unreliable three-pointer (he’s hit just 32.5 percent of his career attempts from deep) and a lack of box-score contributions outside the scoring column, his combination of length, athleticism and an eye for the bucket could make him an interesting option for a number of playoff contenders.”
A Kansas product, Oubre Jr. has played for the Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, Warriors, Charlotte Hornets and Sixers. He has career averages of 13.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.5 blocks.
The Sixers are looking to trade Kelly Oubre Jr. and/or Andre Drummond so they can free up more money to re-sign restricted free agent Quentin Grimes, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.
Philadelphia went 24-58 in 2024-25 despite having Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey. The three All-Stars appeared in only 15 games together, going just 7-8.
