 Major Steph Curry Injury Update
© Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

While it was announced by Monte Poole of NBCS Sports Bay Area that the Golden State Warriors will not announce an official injury update on Steph Curry until Saturday, both ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic's Shams Charania revealed major updates on Friday afternoon.

In consecutive posts on X (formerly known as Twitter), Wojnarowski wrote, "(1) ESPN Sources: Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry’s MRI on his right ankle returned clean on Friday and a clearer timeline on his return will come with how ankle responds over next several days. (2) The expectation is that Curry won’t miss much time for the Warriors, sources said. Golden State is ninth in the Western Conference playoff race."

Charania shared a similar update on X (formerly known as Twitter), writing, "Warriors star Stephen Curry will miss some time – at least a game or few games – with a right ankle sprain but there's optimism his absence will not be lengthy, sources tell me and [Anthony Slater]."

All things considered, this is a very positive injury update that suggests Curry will not have to miss extended time. While Curry is expected to miss at least one game, and potentially a few more, an extended absence seems to have been ruled out.

While Thursday was a rough day for the Warriors, it seems they have avoided the worst case scenario with Curry's injury.
