After nine NBA seasons, Knicks guard Malcolm Brogdon is calling it a career, he told Shams Charania of ESPN.
Brogdon, 33 in December, was set to make New York’s regular-season roster before informing team officials of his decision.
A late addition to camp, he walks away with a résumé that includes 2017 Rookie of the Year honors and the 2023 Sixth Man of the Year award.
Drafted No. 36 overall in 2016, Brogdon carved out an impressive run as one of the league’s most efficient and composed guards.
He played for Milwaukee, Indiana, Boston and Portland before finishing last season with Washington, where he averaged 12.7 points, 4.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds in 24 games before an ankle injury shut him down.
Health has always been the catch. Brogdon missed nearly 40 percent of his possible games (or 249 of 637), but still left his mark as one of the steadiest playmakers and smartest players of his era.

Not bad for a second-round pick who turned poise and precision into nearly a decade in the league.
