NBA veteran Malcolm Brogdon has been predicted to sign with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

NBA writer Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report thinks Brogdon and the Timberwolves will agree to a deal.

“Malcolm Brogdon is an experienced veteran guard who can defend and shoot, but he has struggled to stay healthy throughout much of his career,” Pincus wrote. “The Wizards are going with a young roster, but they also acquired CJ McCollum via trade and have no practical need for Brogdon.

“Several teams could use help at guard, such as the Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks. Prediction: Brogdon joins the Timberwolves, giving support behind Mike Conley.”

Brogdon is an unrestricted free agent. He played for the Washington Wizards last season.

The 32-year-old Brogdon appeared in 24 games for the Wizards in 2024-25. He averaged 12.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.2 blocks while shooting 43.3% from the field, 28.6% from beyond the arc and 88.0% from the free-throw line.

Brogdon has played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics, Portland Trail Blazers and Wizards. He won the 2017 Rookie of the Year Award with the Bucks and the 2023 Sixth Man of the Year Award with the Celtics.

A Virginia product, Brogdon has career averages of 15.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks.

The Timberwolves lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2025 Western Conference Finals in five games. They beat the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round in five games and defeated the Golden State Warriors in the second round in five games.
