Malik Beasley will get the chance to play basketball again as the NBA continues investigating gambling allegations against him.

Beasley has signed with the Santurce Crabbers of Puerto Rico’s Baloncesto Superior Nacional, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. The move will give Beasley the chance to stay in game shape and showcase himself in the event he is cleared to play again before the start of free agency.

Beasley was investigated for links to unusual betting activity related to his player props at least once during the 2023-24 season. While he apparently is not viewed as a target of federal investigators, the NBA is still looking into the claims, and he is not going to land with another NBA team until the league makes a final determination.

The sharpshooting wing has consistently denied any wrongdoing and seemingly suggested he was nearing a return last September , though that never came to pass. He played in all 82 games for the Detroit Pistons last season and averaged 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

The Santurce Crabbers are owned by musician Bad Bunny and featured the likes of former NBA players Ian Clark and John Jenkins on their roster last season.
