Malik Beasley has responded after an outcome he did not want in the Detroit Pistons loss to the LA Clippers.
The LA Clippers needed a response after a terrible loss to the Phoenix Suns on March 4, that saw Kevin Durant inspire an unexpected comeback.
James Harden was due a big night too, with 21 against the Suns, and just 18 and 13 in back to back defeats to the Lakers. He stepped up at the perfect time to inspire a win over the Pistons, scoring 50 points to break a run of three straight loses.
There may have been a hidden inspiration behind James Harden’s big night for the LA Clippers.
The inspiration might have been Detroit Pistons opponent Malik Beasley, who described Harden on a live stream interview as ‘easy’ to guard against.
Speaking to N3on, Beasley tried to backtrack on his claim and show respect for Harden, but the words may have found their way to the Clippers star.
Harden’s 50 points was his biggest points total of the season, his highest since joining the LA Clippers.
Beasley has tried to see the funny side, writing on X: “He had 50 Okayyyyyyyy damnnnnn.”
Whether Harden knew of Beasley’s claims or not, he may have to re-adjust his assessment now.

Okayyyyyyyy damnnnnn
50 points is a huge number, and James Harden’s season best, but a long way off being his career best.
Harden’s career best points totals both came for the Houston Rockets in 2019, when he scored 61 points against the Sacramento Kings, and dropped another 61 against the New York Knicks.
