The 2024-25 NBA season has been magnificent for the Detroit Pistons.
While they were unable to continue their winning ways on Saturday night -- suffering a 109-103 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies -- Malik Beasley was able to etch his name into NBA history.
Desmond Bane's 38-point outburst was too much for the Pistons to overcome, as the Grizzlies guard led the way in the contest.
Detroit guard Cade Cunningham made his return after a six-game absence, logging 25 points on 9-of-24 shooting, adding nine rebounds and four assists.
Again, it was a historical night for Beasley. The Pistons wing has been superb from downtown this season, and he was able to make history from the 3-point line.
Beasley became the fourth player in NBA history to reach the 300 3-pointers made in a single season mark. Not long after, Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards joined him in that company.
The Pistons wing has been crucial to the squad's turnaround, just one season removed from a 14-68 campaign. His addition added much-needed floor spacing.
After the loss, Beasley was clear about one thing: no one can take away from the fact that he made 300 3-pointers in the season, joining elite company.
"It's a blessing," Beasley said. "I am extremely grateful... at the end of the day, no one can take that from me."
Beasley is right, he's etched his name alongside some other elite 3-point shooters. That can't be taken away from him, and he's been a core piece of Detroit's offense.
While the Pistons might have wanted to secure a victory, they've already secured their spot in the playoffs and got to see Beasley reach a historical mark on the season.
