The Los Angeles Clippers shocked the NBA when they sent Chris Paul home during a road trip.
Chris Paul was delighted to be back with the Los Angeles Clippers‘ organization and he planned to retire with them after this season ended.
However, the Clippers abruptly let Paul go in the middle of the night, in the midst of a disastrous season.
Paul’s leadership style reportedly clashed with the Clippers, specifically coach Ty Lue, which led to his dismissal.
After Paul’s fallout with the Clippers, many people are wondering what’s next for the 40-year-old.

Marc Spears reported that Paul has no plans to retire right now and he still wants to play.
However, it might be tough for Paul to find a new home given the fact that so many teams don’t have room for the veteran point guard.
“Asked him [Chris Paul] how he’s doing and he said under the circumstances. He’s about as good as he can be.
“He’s been very happy about former players and current players who have reached out whether on social media or behind the scenes offering support.
“So the big question does he want to retire? Is he done? I was told absolutely not.
“He does want to play but I remember interviewing him before the season and the main reasoning he signed with the Clippers was to be close to family. Go home and try to finish it there.
“So where does he go from here? There’s only 10 teams that have roster spots one GM told me I just don’t have a spot for him, you know, so if it could it be a way could it be our ease could it be away from his family?
“I was told that Chris would cross that bridge when he gets there.”
There are only a handful of teams that could realistically sign Paul for the remainder of this season.
The Dallas Mavericks could bring in Paul to help organize their offense while Kyrie Irving is out, however, with the recent emergence of Ryan Nembhard that seems unlikely now.
The Minnesota Timberwolves make a lot of sense because they need another reliable ball-handler who can limit turnovers and organize the halfcourt offense.
Chris Paul has told Marc Spears that he has not retired and he still wants to play.

It would be a cool story to see Paul finish his career where it all started, while serving as a mentor to Jeremiah Fears on his way out.
