When Luka Doncic swapped Dallas for Los Angeles last season, the move sent shockwaves through the NBA. Fans were stunned, Doncic himself seemed taken aback, and the league was buzzing with one of the biggest transfers of the decade. Fast forward a few months, and the Slovenian star is beginning to settle into life in purple and gold—and more importantly, life in LA.
And what better way to make the city feel like home than by putting down some serious roots? Doncic has just done exactly that, snapping up a jaw-dropping $25 million mansion once owned by none other than tennis icon and five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova.
According to reports from the Orange County Register and KTLA 5, Doncic dropped $25 million last month on a stunning Manhattan Beach mansion that once belonged to tennis great Maria Sharapova. The three-story home is packed with luxury from five spacious bedrooms to its own pool and even a private two-lane bowling alley.

The timing couldn’t be more fitting. Sharapova was just inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, celebrating a career that included 36 singles titles and the rare Grand Slam, with five major championships in total. On the flip side, Doncic is cementing his own future in LA after signing a massive three-year, $165 million extension with the Lakers this offseason, which also includes a player option for 2028-29. Safe to say, both stars are making headlines on and off the court.
Luka Doncic has been lighting up EuroBasket 2025, putting Slovenia on his back with some massive performances. But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing—the Lakers star gave fans a real scare last month when he picked up a knock in a friendly against Latvia. After a collision with a teammate left him limping off, social media exploded with concern about whether he’d be fit for the long season ahead.
Thankfully, his dad, Saša Doncic, quickly calmed things down. Speaking to siol.net, he said Luka’s fine just the usual knocks and bruises that come with the game. And judging by his play since, he wasn’t exaggerating. Dončić dropped a monster 42 points in Slovenia’s 84-77 win over Italy, reminding everyone why he’s one of the most dominant players in the world right now. Still, he made sure to credit his teammates, saying those performances aren’t possible without their help.
