Mavericks get more bad injury news as another key player is set to miss time

Luka Doncic is a superstar, and if the Dallas Mavericks need him to do everything in order to win games, he's clearly proved that he can do just that.

Doncic can only do so much to bring the Mavs a championship, though, and even Michael Jordan and LeBron James needed help. With that said, the Mavericks have suffered a bit more bad news on the injury front with center/forward Maxi Kleber already on the bench recovering from a torn right hamstring.

It's being reported that another Dallas big man, Christian Wood, is going to miss time with an injury. Wood has fractured his left thumb and is going to miss some time. He'll be re-evaluated next week, per ESPN's Tim MacMahon

This is without a doubt a big loss for Dallas. With Kleber and Wood out, the big-man rotation features only Dwight Powell and JaVale McGee now. Wood has also been Dallas' second-best scorer this season, averaging 18.4 points per game.

Doncic, of course, is the team's leading scorer at 33.7 points per game. In fact, he leads all NBA players in scoring, with Joel Embiid checking in right behind him averaging 33.6 points per contest.
