The Dallas Mavericks have gone 5-5 since the February 1 trade agreement that sent superstar forward Luka Doncic to coach JJ Redick's Los Angeles Lakers.
The deal shined the spotlight on the Mavericks' new starting lineup with Anthony Davis as the team's new star player opposite Kyrie Irving at the point guard position.
The Mavericks have begun starting 2021 second round pick (number 44 overall out of Pepperdine University) Kessler Edwards at the power forward position.
Edwards scored four points and grabbed three rebounds in 13 minutes against the Lakers on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, a former NBA sharpshooter took to his X account to share his honest, unfiltered thoughts on the situation, specifically wondering aloud to his 88,000 plus followers as to what Edwards brings to the Mavericks.
"I mean no disrespect by this," former Boston Celtic, former Michigan Wolverine and former Big Ten Player of the Year Nik Stauskas wrote on X late Tuesday night.
"Asking as a happily retired player lol. How in the hell does Kessler Edwards have a job in the NBA? Let alone a starter for a team coming off an NBA finals run.
"I'm just confused as to what his strengths are and what he does to impact a game?"
Edwards is averaging 2.3 points and 2.4 rebounds this season with the Mavericks.
