The NBA trade deadline has come and gone, and the Dallas Mavericks may have left it with more questions than answers.
Early Sunday morning, ESPN's Shams Charania revealed that the Mavericks were sending Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis. This deal now pairs Doncic with LeBron James and Davis with Kyrie Irving.
Along with Davis, the Mavs also acquired guard Max Christie from the Lakers and Caleb Martin from the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Mavericks are back in action on Thursday night, facing the defending champion Boston Celtics. Many had anticipated Davis making his debut against Irving's former team, but due to an abdominal muscle strain, he suffered on Jan. 28 against the 76ers, the former Kentucky star has now been ruled out.
The next possible game Davis could make his debut in is against the Houston Rockets on Saturday afternoon. However, before that, the Mavericks have made the decision to hold Davis' introductory press conference on Friday at 2:00 p.m. ET, per ClutchPoints' Joey Mistretta.
"The Dallas Mavericks will have an introductory press conference for Anthony Davis, Max Christie and Caleb Martin on Friday at 1 PM CT," Mistretta wrote on X.

Although the Mavericks will lose a ton of offense with Luka on his way out, they may make it for it with Davis' interior presence. Plus, the ex-New Orleans Pelicans standout is still performing at a high level on offense, averaging 25.7 points and 11.9 rebounds per game.
Dallas enters Thursday's game against the Celtics on a three-game losing streak, sitting at 25-24 and eighth in the West. Doncic's absence since Christmas Day with an injury did not help.
