The Dallas Mavericks are set to play the Houston Rockets on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.

Dallas currently sits eighth in the Western Conference standings with a 27-25 record. They recently cracked a three-game losing streak with a 127-120 victory over the Boston Celtics in a rematch of last year's NBA Finals.

The Mavericks enter a new era after the trade deadline, with Anthony Davis serving as the franchise cornerstone. While the trade to send superstar Luka Doncic to the Lakers has been finalized since last weekend, the Mavs have been awaiting their new power forward's debut.

Ahead of the Rockets game on Saturday, Davis has been cleared to play after nursing an abdominal injury. According to Underdog NBA, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd announced that Davis is expected to play 36 to 38 minutes against the Rockets.

Davis has averaged 25.7 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game this season. He's played at an efficient level, shooting 52.8% from the field.

He'll now be playing alongside Kyrie Irving, as well as key role players such as PJ Washington, Klay Thompson and Spencer Dinwiddie.

Davis was named an NBA All-Star days before being traded by the Lakers. He's set to play in the All-Star Game at 8 p.m. ET on Feb. 16 at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
