Mavericks rout Suns in Game 7, 123-90, advance to face Warriors in WCF

The Dallas Mavericks are moving onto the Western Conference Finals. On Sunday night, the Mavericks blew out the Phoenix Suns in Game 7 of their conference semifinal series, 123-90. 

The Mavericks used a hot shooting night and stifling defense to punch their ticket to the conference finals. 

As a team, the Mavericks shot 56.8% from the field and 48.7% from beyond the arc.

Luka Doncic finished with 35 points, shooting 63.2% (12-of-19) and 54.5% from three (6-of-11). He pulled down 10 rebounds, adding four assists and two steals. 

Spencer Dinwiddie had 30 points, shooting 73.3% (11-of-15) from the field, 71.4% from three (5-of-7) and was a perfect 3-of-3 from the free throw line. 

Jalen Brunson scored 24 points, shooting 57.9% (11-of-19) from the field and 50% from three (2-of-4), with six rebounds, two assists and a steal.  

The Mavericks' defense nailed down the Suns, holding them to just 37.9% shooting from the field and 35.3% from three. 

Phoenix's Devin Booker and Chris Paul were held to a combined 21 points Sunday night. Booker finished with 11 points, shooting 21.4% (3-of-14) from the field and was 0-for-4 from three. Paul had 10 points, shooting 50% (4-of-8) from the field on only eight shots and 33.3% (1-of-3) from three.

Dallas took an early 10-point lead in the first quarter but exploded in the second, outscoring Phoenix 30-10 to take a 57-27 lead at halftime. In the third quarter, the Mavericks continued to pour it on, increasing their lead to 42 points at 92-50. Phoenix posted 40 points in the fourth quarter but mostly in garbage time.

The Mavericks will take on the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. Game 1 is scheduled for Wednesday at 9 p.m.
