The Dallas Mavericks' acquisition of Anthony Davis was centered around arguably the biggest move in NBA trade deadline history.
Davis was traded in a deal that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, while the Utah Jazz were involved for draft compensation.
Following the trade to Dallas, Davis made his Mavericks debut on Feb. 8. In a 116-105 victory over the Houston Rockets, Davis recorded 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks.
Despite the dominant performance, Davis suffered an injury during the game, which has kept him sidelined ever since.
On Thursday, the Mavericks provided an injury update for fans. Dallas announced that Davis will be re-evaluated in two weeks while mentioning that he's made "good progress" on his left abductor strain.
Upon posting the news, Dallas' official social media account sent a kind note to Davis.
"Get well soon, AD," the Mavericks captioned the post.

So far this season, Davis has averaged 25.7 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. Most of his production has come in a Lakers uniform, and his elite play has recently earned him his 10th NBA All-Star citation.
As the Mavericks await the return of Davis, they'll prepare for a matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans. Tip-off is on Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
