With many experts of the game selecting the Minnesota Timberwolves to represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals before the series started, some are now beginning to wonder if the Dallas Mavericks can actually get the job done after they squeaked out a 108-105 victory. Either way, the star power taking place in this series is overwhelming, to say the least, and no matter who comes out on the winning side of things, there is still plenty of money to be made in the form of prop bets. Following plenty of epic performances galore in the opening contest of this series, which props make the most sense to wager on in Game 2?

Here are the NBA Playoffs odds, courtesy of FanDuel.

Mavericks-Timberwolves Game 2 Prop Odds

Kyrie Irving to Score +20 Points: -280

Karl Anthony Towns to Score Under 20.5 Points: -106

Derrick Lively to Record 8+ Rebounds: +110

Kyrie Irving to Score +20 Points

During the Western Conference Semis against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kyrie Irving often looked disinterested in scoring the basketball and wasn’t nearly as aggressive as he should’ve been. Fast forward to these conference finals, and vintage Kyrie Irving is back and better than ever.

Obviously, Kyrie has flipped the script with his scoring thus far in the series, but the biggest surprise was how easily he was able to blow past Minnesota defenders on his way to finish at the cup. Since the Timberwolves’ size and length are often a tough obstacle to overcome, Kyrie proved that he still boasts elite speed and lateral quickness to get whatever he wants offensively. Not to mention, Irving managed to score all 30 of his points on two-point attempts as he went 0-3 from downtown. While putting forth another 30-point performance won’t be easy against the top defense in the league, it is evident that Irving is in a scoring mindset and should be able to score 20+ points in this contest.

Karl Anthony Towns to Score Under 20.5 Points

Don’t get things confused… whenever Karl Anthony Towns is locked in, it’s a scary thought. However, KAT is often too inconsistent and it is a wonder which version of himself will show up in Game 2.

During the regular season, Towns averaged just a shade under 22 points per game. In 12 postseason games, that average has dipped down to 18.6 points per contest. Furthermore, in Game One of these Western Conference Finals versus Dallas, KAT failed to get into a shooting rhythm all evening long as he went 6-20 from the floor including a lousy 2-9 mark from way downtown.

Without a doubt, Towns is a tricky cat to figure out. At times, he will appear to have the potential to be the best player on the floor. However, he is streaky and doesn’t always have a high IQ with his shot selection.  With opposing defenses having turned up a notch come playoff time, Towns’ difficulty in scoring has only increased. Indeed, it appears that relying on KAT to hit the Under on points probably seems like a wise move.

Derrick Lively to Record 8+ Rebounds

In the midst of an extremely stellar postseason showing, the most impressive part of Lively’s play down low has been the fact that the big-bodied Maverick is only a rookie. With his first taste of playoff basketball, the 12th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft has put on a show, especially on the glass. Although the 20-year-old hasn’t put up monstrous numbers in the scoring department, he has made up for it by being a master in corralling rebounds. Don’t look now, but Lively has recorded double-digit rebounds in three-straight postseason outings. Even with Minnesota’s staggering size within the heart of the paint, Lively has showcased that it won’t affect his aggressiveness en route to getting his paws on the basketball. Ultimately, side with Lively to record at least 8+ rebounds with the tremendous value sitting at +110.

Final Mavericks-Timberwolves Game 2 Prop Bets Prediction & Pick

Expect the buzz of this Game 2 to live up to expectations in a big way. Only time will tell whether or not the Mavericks or Timberwolves will come out victorious, but these prop bets are an absolute must to add to your bet slip.

Final Mavericks-Timberwolves Game 2 Prop Bets Prediction & Pick: Kyrie Irving to Score 20+ Points (-280), Karl Anthony Towns to Score Under 20.5 Points (-106), Derrick Lively to Record 8+ Rebounds (+110)
