Mavericks vs. Timberwolves Western Conference Finals Game 2 Results According To 2K24

According to NBA 2K24, the Minnesota Timberwolves will defeat the Dallas Mavericks in Game 2 by a score of 132-130. Jaden McDaniels’ layup with just one second remaining helped the Timberwolves avoid Overtime and secure their first victory of the series. For a moment, we expected the game to go into OT when Luka Doncic successfully completed a 3P Jumpshot with 4 seconds remaining. Instead, Minnesota avoided it entirely thanks to McDaniels.

TEAM Quarter 1 Quarter 2 Quarter 3 Quarter 4 FINAL
DAL 28 28 34 40 130
MIN 28 34 29 41 132

Throughout the game, it seemed Minnesota had the edge. At one point in the contest, the team even built up an 11 point lead, but squandered about halfway through the third. Nevertheless, the team never let Dallas take a lead bigger than 2 points in the contest. They consistently played well to the end, resulting in the team’s victory.

In terms of player performances, Anthony Edwards once again earns the game ball here. He scored 59 points, converted 8-of-14 three-pointers. Mike Conley also had a great performance, scoring 23 points and adding 11 assists to his stat sheet. Additionally, Rudy Gobert dropped 15 points while adding 20 rebounds on the day. Lastly, McDaniels also deserves a shoutout for his game-winning shot in the end.

As for the Mavericks, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving led the charge again. Doncic dropped 49 points, earned 8 assists, and completed over half of this 3PT attempts. Irving added another 34 points to the board along with 9 assists, but only converted 3-0f-10 3PT attempts. P.J. Washington also played well, earning 22 points and converting 6-0f-8 three point shots. However, none of these players were able to help their team win in the end.

With the win, the Timberwolves tie up the series. However, the team wishes they could’ve won both games at home before heading to Dallas. This is going to be a difficult series to win for either team, and home-field advantage might play a big role throughout. They need to win at least one game on their road trip to keep the series even before returning back home. We’ll see if Edwards and co. are up for the challenge.

Although they lost, the Mavericks at least take consolation as they head back home. Just winning one game away is already good for a team who’s used to battling it out in 6-7 games. Luka and the Mavericks play well under pressure, and this loss should fuel them to perform better in Game 3. However, the Timberwolves are an incredible team. It’ll take the whole roster’s collective effort to win this series.

In terms of accuracy, we feel the score was a bit high, but at least not completely unrealistic. For some reason, no matter how much we adjust the sliders, the Mavericks especially seem to involve themselves in high-scoring games. Nevertheless, we’ll continue to make the proper adjustments until our scores reflect something a bit more normal. Regardless, we had a blast watching.

Another area of accuracy we improved on slightly since the Conference Semi Finals is roster lineups. We use custom rosters to account for injuries when possible, unless it’s listed as a Game time decision. While this often causes the game to crash for some reason, it’s easier to restart a simulation when there’s only two series going on presently. We’ll continue to try and make the sims both accurate and enjoyable for you.

Overall, that wraps up our Mavericks vs. Timberwolves Game 2 Results According To NBA 2K24. We’ll see if the game’s bias for the Timberwolves pays off when Game 2 takes place this Friday.
