The Mavericks have waived Dalano Banton, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, and Dennis Smith Jr., the team announced.

All three were on non-guaranteed training camp deals. Banton’s contract included Exhibit 9 and Exhibit 10 language, making him eligible for a bonus of up to $85,300 if he reports to the Texas Legends and spends at least 60 days with Dallas’ G League affiliate.

Robinson-Earl and Smith were on Exhibit 9 deals, which primarily serve to protect the team financially in case of injury — something the Mavs avoided.

The moves likely signal that Dallas plans to keep guards Dante Exum and Brandon Williams on its standard roster.

Exum’s deal is fully guaranteed, though he’s been sidelined with a right knee injury. Williams, whose 2025-26 salary is partially guaranteed for $200,000, continues to impress the front office after being promoted from a two-way deal late last season.

Banton, a 2021 second-round pick, has logged 216 NBA games across stints with Toronto, Boston, and Portland. He averaged 8.3 points, 2.4 assists, and 2.0 rebounds in 67 appearances last season.

Robinson-Earl, also a 2021 second-rounder, played 66 games for the Pelicans last year, posting 6.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per outing.

All three players are expected to draw interest from G League affiliates and potentially other NBA teams before the season begins.
