Mavs defeat Lakers in Summer League; Flagg struggles in debut

Cooper Flagg has officially played his first Summer League game. Although he struggled in the game, his Dallas Mavericks walked away with the victory.

All eyes were certainly on Flagg as this was his debut in the Summer League. Ticket prices rose to an average of $223, which is expensive for a Summer League game.

In the game, both teams had huge runs at times but most of the game was close. While all eyes were on Flagg, he appeared to have felt pressure.

Flagg scored 10 points in the game on 5-21 shooting, including 0-5 from beyond the arc. He did add six rebounds, four assists, three steals, and a block.

On a personal level, this wasn’t the performance Flagg was hoping to have. Still, it is something he can work on and he’ll likely improve every game he plays in.

Overall, Flagg is a happy man tonight. His Mavericks escaped with an 87-85 victory over the Lakers. Flagg also came up clutch, with a huge block and an assist on the next play that gave Dallas the lead for good.

The Mavericks play their next Summer League game on Saturday at 4:00 PM EST against the San Antonio Spurs. Will Flagg have a better performance?
