Mavs pull interesting move for a season-ticket holder after Doncic trade

The Dallas Mavericks appear to be in full damage control mode.

Abby Jones of DLLS Sports reported Tuesday (h/t Bleacher Report) that the Mavs are offering refunds for their remaining home games this season to the fans who have canceled their season tickets. With Dallas having 16 home games left this regular season, Jones notes that the refund is valued at around $2K.

However, WFAA reports that this was limited to just one fan: "We did hear from at least one season-ticket holder who asked for a ticket cancellation and will be getting a refund, according to an email correspondence between the ticket holder and a team employee."

WFAA released the following statement from the Mavericks:

"Regarding tickets, no determination has been made about season-ticket pricing for the 2025-26 Season. Season-ticket members will hear from their reps over the next few weeks.

"Regarding refunds, we value every season-ticket member relationship and reps are available to take calls from members with any concerns or questions."

Mavericks fans are absolutely incensed right now after last weekend’s jaw-dropping trade of their 25-year-old franchise cornerstone Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. Some fans have pulled unbelievable stunts outside American Airlines Center to protest the move, and now it looks like others are canceling their season tickets altogether.

Now the only thing that the Dallas organization can hope for is that their return package of Anthony Davis and Max Christie will help them get enough wins this season to prevent even more fans from walking out the door.
