It’s hard to predict where the Memphis Grizzlies could end up with their current roster.
Despite finishing the 2024-25 NBA season with a 48-34 record, the Memphis Grizzlies faced a first-round exit during the playoffs.
It wasn’t a surprising result, especially considering the Grizzlies’ decision to hire Toumas Iisalo as the head coach with just nine games left in the regular season.
The 2025-26 NBA season will serve as a litmus test for Iisalo’s coaching capabilities. But for that to happen, the Grizzlies’ front office needs to provide him with a talented roster.
There’s no doubt that Ja Morant will remain as the key superstar for the Grizzlies during the 2025-26 NBA season. The real task is surrounding Morant with a talented supporting cast.
The Grizzlies have tried tackling that by trading for veteran sharpshooter Kentavious Caldwell-Pope from the Orlando Magic.
With that said, here are the rest of the additions and re-signings that the Grizzlies have announced ahead of the upcoming season.
The trade for KCP remains the biggest addition to the roster. After all, the 32-year-old guard has won two NBA Championships (the LA Lakers in 2020, the Denver Nuggets in 2023).
Caldwell-Pope’s veteran leadership will certainly prove to be valuable for the Grizzlies’ core, who have suffered two first-round exits in the last three years.
After yet another underwhelming postseason run, the Grizzlies’ top brass finally decided to shake things up on the roster.
That included parting ways with several players. The most notable departure was that of Desmond Bane, as he was traded to the Magic.
Keeping that move in mind, here are all the players who won’t be members of the Grizzlies anymore.
Bane was a member of the team for the last five seasons, and fans will certainly miss that familiar face in the Grizzlies’ lineup for the 2025-26 season.
