The biggest question mark surrounding the Miami Heat right now is the situation of Jimmy Butler, who has been suspended on three occasions in recent times and clearly wants to be traded away before the February 6 deadline.
Whether that trade will take place or not remains to be seen with less than a week left to get it done. But both Butler and the Heat want to see it happen.
After that, it will be up to the Heat to find a replacement for a player who has guided them to two NBA Finals since joining in 2019.
There are some interesting names seemingly available for trade right now. One of them is De'Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings.
According to Shams Charania, the Kings are expected to open up talks to potentially deal Fox ahead of the February 6 trade deadline.
Fox is one of the best point guards in the league and could potentially be a long-term answer for the Heat, if they can find a way to bring him to Miami.
Could the Heat hit two targets with one shot by parting ways with Butler and bringing in Fox as part of the same trade?
In FadeAway World, Ishaan Bhattacharya suggested a three-team trade that would see the Heat receive Fox and Trey Lyles. The Memphis Grizzlies would get Butler. The Kings would receive Marcus Smart, Brandon Clarke, Luke Kennard, 2027 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2029 First-Round Pick (MIA) and 2031 First-Round Pick (MIA).
In such a trade, the Heat would somehow be able to land one of the NBA's best point guards while also bringing an end to the Butler saga.
The Grizzlies would get Butler, even if for the short-term while moving on from contracts. And the Kings would get draft capital alongside players who could help them remain competitive.
