Game date, time and location: Wednesday, Oct. 14, 7:30 p.m., Kaseya Center, Miami, Florida

TV: WPLG Channel 10 (South Florida), YES Network (Brooklyn)

Radio: 104.3 FM, 1140 AM (South Florida), SiriusXM Channel 895 (Brooklyn)

VITALS: The Heat and Nets meet for the 15th time in preseason history. Miami is 6-8 all-time in preseason action versus Brooklyn.

The Heat are 85-61 against the Nets, all-time, in the regular season, including 46-26 at home and 39-35 on the road.

While the Heat are expected to contend for a playoff spot this season, following a play-in exit, the Nets are one of the few teams still in rebuild mode in the East.

The Nets will feature two veterans -- Michael Porter Jr. and Julius Randle -- who may be trade chips as the season progresses, while trying to develop their young core. The Heat may treat this exhibition as a dress rehearsal for the season, after sitting their regulars on Saturday night against Minnesota.

Betting Lines (via FanDuel Sportsbook)

QUOTABLE

Miami Heat sharpshooter Klay Thompson on Erik Spoelstra: “He cares, and it’s good to be around a head coach who doesn’t mind to kind of get into you. He respects your work, but he also wants to get the most out of you, and he doesn’t believe in ‘You’re past your prime’ or ‘Your best years are behind you.’ He believes that you can still be effective at any stage you want, as long as you’re willing to work.”
