The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Utah Jazz 123-114 at the FedExForum on Friday. Olivier-Maxence Prosper led the Grizzlies with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist. Isaiah Collier led the Jazz with 24 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Memphis named Maxence Prosper as Friday’s Player of the Game presented by International Paper. Prosper, 23, signed a two-way contract with the Grizzlies and their G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle, on Sept. 4, 2025, after a two-year stint with the Dallas Mavericks from 2023-25.
Miami’s starting lineup featured Kasparas Jakucionis, Norman Powell, Pelle Larsson, Andrew Wiggins, and Bam Adebayo. Miami ruled out Terry Rozier (indefinite leave), Nikola Jovic (lower back tightness), and Davion Mitchell (illness).
Memphis’ starting lineup featured Walter Clayton Jr., Ty Jerome, Jaylen Wells, Taylor Hendricks, and Jahmai Mashack. Memphis ruled out Brandon Clarke (Grade 2 right calf strain), Zach Edey (left ankle stress reaction), Ja Morant (UCL sprain), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (right pinky finger surgery), Santi Aldama (knee), and Cedric Coward (knee). Memphis listed Kyle Anderson (right knee soreness) as questionable.

Memphis sported its Association jerseys in South Beach. Miami is the fastest team in the NBA, but Memphis’ efforts kept the score close. Jakucionis, who made his ninth start of the season, nailed a three-pointer. Ty Jerome nailed a three-pointer of his own. Miami took a 39-33 lead to end the first.
The second quarter saw a strong effort from the two teams. Powell weaved through two Grizzlies defenders to finish at the rim, as Miami went on a 7-0 run. GG Jackson beat the shot clock with an and-one, as Memphis outscored Miami by one point. Miami took a 73-68 lead into halftime.
The third quarter saw a slow start, but the two teams gradually picked up the pace. Wiggins grabbed an offensive rebound that caught the rim to reach 15,000 career points and 21 points on the night. He finished with 28 points in the win.
The fourth quarter saw a sluggish start, but the two teams picked up the pace. Wells stole the ball from Adebayo and found Maxence Prosper, who danced in for the finger roll. However, Miami remained in the driver’s seat. Pelle Larsson drove the lane and hit the jumper. Miami won 136-120 in regulation.
The Miami Heat open a two-game road trip beginning with the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Central. The Heat can defeat the Bucks by creating a strong defense against Giannis Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo, 31, often relies on getting to the basket.
