Miami Heat Point Guard Tyler Herro helped power the team to victory last night on the road against the Chicago Bulls. His performance helped Miami advance in the NBA Play-In. He finished with 38 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Herro scored 23 points in the first half and kept it going as the Miami Heat prevailed 109-90.
It has not been an easy year for the Heat. The Jimmy Butler saga cast a pall over the first few months of the regular season. Herro was one of the team’s bright spots through it all. He averaged a career-high 23.9 points and a career-best 5.5 assists. Will Herro be able to keep up his level of play as the Miami Heat look to advance?
Miami faces a winner-take-all game on the road Friday night against the Atlanta Hawks. The teams are going in opposite directions. Miami looked great in its Play-In Tournament game while Hawks Point Guard Trae Young was ejected in the fourth quarter of Atlanta’s 25-point loss to the Orlando Magic.
Herro has played well against the Hawks this year. In 4 games against the team, he has averaged 24.8 points on 47/40/92 splits. He must maintain that level of play for the Miami Heat to win tomorrow night and advance. The winner of the game will face the No. 1 seed Cleveland Cavaliers in the opening round.
Herro will be relied upon to take advantage of a poor Hawks defense. If the Heat can bottle up their offensive performance from Wednesday night, and bring it to Atlanta, they will advance to the main draw of the 2025 NBA Playoffs.
