Miami Heat Reportedly Sign Recent Brooklyn Nets Player
USA TODAY Sports

Alondes Williams is coming off his rookie season in the NBA, where he played in one game for the Brooklyn Nets.

In January, Williams was waived by the Nets, and he has been a free agent available to be signed by any team in the league.

On Friday afternoon, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that Williams will sign an Exhibit 10 deal with the Miami Heat

Via Charania : "The Miami Heat are signing former Wake Forest standout guard Alondes Williams to an Exhibit 10 training camp contract, sources tell  @TheAthletic @Stadium. Williams appeared in one game for Nets last season and averaged 13.5 PPG, 4.7 RPG and 2.9 APG for G League Long Island."

Williams was initially undrafted out of Wake Forest last summer and has also played for the Long Island Nets in the G League.

In 24 regular season games, the 24-year-old averaged 13.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 51.3% from the field and 37.5% from the three-point range (he has also appeared in 11 Showcase Cup games and two G League playoff games).

Since the deal is for an Exhibit 10, Williams will likely join the Heat for training camp and then go to their G League team (if he does not make the roster).

As for the Heat, they are coming off a year where they were the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.

They ended up making the NBA Finals but lost to the Denver Nuggets in five games.
