The NBA offseason rumor machine is in overdrive, and now Chad Johnson’s added gasoline to the fire. With trade speculation around Giannis Antetokounmpo, the former NFL star made a hot claim. According to Johnson, Antetokounmpo may already be prepping for life in South Beach.

Milwaukee is coming off a horrendous 2025-26 campaign that ended outside the playoff picture, and league insiders have confirmed the Bucks are finally open to listening to trade offers for their franchise superstar. Teams like the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, and New York Knicks are reportedly monitoring the situation. However, Miami still feels like the loudest destination tied to the two-time MVP.

That’s where Johnson took things to another level during an appearance on “Nightcap” on May 21. The Miami native claimed his sources told him Antetokounmpo is searching for homes in the city, while also hinting the deal to the Miami Heat is practically done.

Johnson later doubled down online, suggesting Miami acquiring the Greek Freak is already “in the bag,” which again, fuels even more chaos across NBA social media.

How a Giannis Antetokounmpo-Bam Adebayo Duo Could Revive the Miami Heat

ESPN insider Bobby Marks dropped a blockbuster trade proposal sending Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat. Miami would reportedly send Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Nikola Jovic, multiple first-round picks, and swap rights to Milwaukee.

The idea feels realistic because both franchises are stuck at major crossroads. Miami has drifted away from contention since its 2023 Finals run, while Milwaukee completely collapsed last season and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.

A potential core of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bam Adebayo, and Norman Powell would reshape the Eastern Conference. Even with durability concerns, the 31-year-old still averaged 27.6 points and nearly 10 rebounds last season while remaining one of basketball’s most dominant two-way stars.
