Michael Porter Jr. was a key part of the Denver Nuggets core and many fans had grown to love him over the years, despite some of his struggles. Whether intentionally or not, his latest comments are going to burn more than a few bridges.
Porter was traded from the Nuggets to the Brooklyn Nets at the start of the free agency period. The Nuggets had to package him away with a 2032 first-round pick, but it netted them Cameron Johnson in the process.
The Nuggets got an upgrade and financial flexibility in the process. Apparently, they also rid themselves of a player who may have been disgruntled with his situation in Denver.
In his excitement of joining the Nets, Porter fired of a shot at his old team. Apparently, the former Nuggets forward felt like he reached the pinnacle of what he could be in Denver.
Porter said, "I'm really excited for this next chapter out here in Brooklyn. I think over there in Denver, I felt like my ceiling had kind of plateaued. ... We ended up winning a championship, but I do feel like my ceiling in Denver kind of plateaued a little bit."
"I'm really excited for this next chapter in Brooklyn. Over in Denver, I feel like my ceiling had plateaued... I want to grow my game. I don't want to plateau."

Porter added, "Me and Cam are actually boys. We're pretty, we're pretty cool. We're even having talks of swapping homes. ... And I'm excited for him to be able to finally compete for a championship over there. And I, myself, am excited to expand my game and be able to do what I do. ... I want to keep getting better throughout my career."
There were certainly parts of Porter's video where the sincerity appeared to exist about being happy for the opportunity Johnson and the Nuggets will get. However, it is tough to ignore that some of those comments do make him sound like a scorned ex-girlfriend.
