It’s no small irony that the Milwaukee Bucks‘ biggest move this offseason was stealing a franchise cornerstone from their bitterest rival. 10 years a Pacer, Myles Turner defected by way of a four-year, $109 million deal with the Bucks, in the thick of contract negotiations to keep him in Indiana. Now that he’s here, no hard feelings – it would be kinda awkward otherwise. Friday afternoon, the team posted a video of Turner greeting fans with open arms.
“What’s up y’all, it’s Myles Turner checking in to the Cream City,” Milwaukee’s new starting center began. “I’m excited to join the organization, man. It’s been quite some time, and good news, I don’t hate y’all no more, baby. It’s love.”
It’s all love from Myles.

Outside Indiana’s lone first round loss to the Bucks, Turner had none too much trouble dicing up Milwaukee’s defense and menacing the paint. In those four games, he averaged 19.5 points on 59% from the floor. He went 9-18 beyond the arc and posted a pair of four-block performances.
Having Turner on their side is definitely good news for the Bucks. Alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis, he gives them the league’s most fearsome backcourt.
Bitter Pacers fans notwithstanding, the comment section lit up with reciprocal enthusiasm.
That’s my starting center ‼️

Hello Myles. I’m super pumped to have you on the team. I always felt you would be a perfect fit with the team but I never thought it would be possible to get you. Can’t wait for the season to start. Welcome to MKE!!

Noting his documented passion for Legos, one fan exclaimed: “So exciting!! We will get Milwaukee legos for him!”
Of course, it’s impossible to pretend like Bucks fans have always felt this way – Turner himself brought the sentiment of past rivalry to the forefront.
If you don’t look at my previous tweets, I have always loved you too Myles.
Trust. Welcome to the cream city

Now is the time to bury old grievances. No one wanted Damian Lillard gone in such unceremonious fashion, but Turner is just as exciting an addition as he is a surprising one. With him in tow, the Bucks will look to disprove their doubters in the 2025-26 season, many of whom believe this group is a play-in team at best.
