The Milwaukee Bucks’ off-season has been all about building around disgruntled superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
After Damian Lillard’s devastating Achilles injury and the departure of Brook Lopez to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Bucks were left with an underwhelming roster.
However, Milwaukee then completed the free agency signings of Myles Turner and Gary Harris to bolster the rotation.
And now, it seems they have found another two guards to help Antetokounmpo contend in a weakened Eastern Conference next season.
Cole Anthony was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies as part of the Orlando Magic’s blockbuster move for Desmond Bane.
But Anthony was only included to match the salaries; the Grizzlies had no need for him after signing backup point guard Ty Jerome.
So, the player and team agreed to a contract buyout, which the Milwaukee Bucks have now capitalized on.

Anthony’s development stagnated in the past few seasons, but he was still a quality role player in Orlando.
He averaged 12.5 points, three rebounds and three assists on 42 percent shooting in his five-year Magic career.
Doc Rovers could do worse than to make Anthony the Bucks’ starting point guard alongside Gary Trent Jr in the backcourt next season.
Jamaree Bouyea had an impressive college basketball career with the San Francisco Dons before going undrafted in 2022.
He has since played for five different NBA teams, including the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs, before landing with the Bucks earlier this year.
He only played five games, including one start, for Milwaukee last season despite making 50% of his shots.
Bouyea has now been given the opportunity to impress in the NBA Summer League, and he has taken full advantage.
Against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, Bouyea dropped 20 points, four rebounds and three assists, making four out of seven three-point attempts.
Of course, it’s only one game, but with the Bucks’ limited backcourt options, perhaps Bouyea will finally get a real chance to shine in 2025-26.
