The Milwaukee Bucks improved to 3-1 on the young 2025-26 NBA season with their come-from-behind 121-111 victory over the New York Knicks at Fiserv Forum on Tuesday night. While it is still early, this particular win is easily the Bucks’ best so far this year as they went a combined 0-9 against the Eastern Conference’s three best teams a year ago (the Cleveland Cavaliers, Knicks, and Boston Celtics).
Point guard Ryan Rollins, who started again in place of injured Kevin Porter Jr., had the best game of his young career, scoring a career-high 25 points while shooting 8-11 from the field (4-4 from three and 5-5 from the free throw line). He also added two rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
But, as always, the biggest star of the game was two-time NBA MVP and nine-time All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who continued to make league history amid his torrid start to the season.
As Bucks fans know all too well, the Knicks are one of the teams most commonly linked to Giannis in trade rumors and speculation that are drummed up by the mainstream media. Indeed, it seems as if national reporters, and even a Milwaukee-based sports radio station, will stop at nothing to drive the Greek Freak out of Milwaukee.
But Giannis, as always, has tuned out all the external noise and focuses on playing winning basketball in Milwaukee, which he referred to as “My city” during the game last night.
Giannis ended the game against New York with 37 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and two blocks. With these numbers, he made even more NBA history:

Giannis is the first player in NBA history to put up 140+ points, 50+ rebounds, and 20+ assists through his first four games of any season. So far this year, he is averaging 36.3 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game while shooting 69.5% from the field.
Ever since he won his second consecutive NBA MVP Award following the 2020-21 season, the Greek Freak has not finished higher than third in any year since. If he continues to put up historic numbers, it is possible that he could take home his third career MVP Award this season.
Of course, personal accolades are not Giannis’ primary goal. He wants to win another NBA Championship, and he would prefer to do so in Milwaukee. It is still early and there is no clearcut favorite to win the Eastern Conference yet. But if Giannis continues to lead the Bucks to victory against good teams, they have as good of a chance as any.
