Milwaukee Bucks Reportedly Sign Former NBA 1st-Round Pick
USA TODAY Sports

TyTy Washington Jr. was initially the 29th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets after playing one season of college basketball for Kentucky.

Coming out of high school, ESPN ranked Washington Jr. as the 14th-best player in the class of 2021.

However, after just one season with the Rockets, Washington Jr. was traded  (this summer) to the Atlanta Hawks (who then traded him to the Oklahoma City Thunder).

The Thunder released him, so he has been a free agent.

On Tuesday afternoon, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that Washington Jr. will sign a two-way deal with the Milwaukee Bucks

Via Charania: "The Milwaukee Bucks are signing guard TyTy Washington Jr. on a two-way NBA contract, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Washington was the No. 29 pick in the 2022 NBA draft."

During his rookie year with the Rockets, Washington Jr. averaged 4.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 36.3% from the field and 23.8% from the three-point range in 31 regular season games.

In addition, Washington Jr. played in the G League and averaged 26.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 40.7% from the field in eight regular season games (he also appeared in ten Showcase Cup games and five G League playoff games).

As for the Bucks, they are coming off a year where they were the first seed in the Eastern Conference.

However, they lost to the Miami Heat in the first round of the NBA playoffs in five games.
