Minnesota Timberwolves: Jaden McDaniels’ Hilarious Face During Game 2’s Closing Seconds Go Viral
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Timberwolves did everything they could to contain the Dallas Mavericks in Game 2 and bring a bit of momentum as the series heads back to Minnesota. Anthony Edwards and company threw everything to the Mavs for the sake of victory.

However, even the most well-executed game plan can fall short in the face of greatness. Luka Doncic was simply unstoppable as his epic game-winning shot at Rudy Gobert’s face became an iconic moment for the Slovenian superstar.

With such a moment completely turning the momentum of the series on its head, the Timberwolves will be doing everything in their power to even the series and make it interesting for everyone. However, there’s one thing they’ll surely not do again if we look at one moment that went viral during Game 2’s dying embers.

Jaden McDaniels’ face during the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Game 2 loss went viral

Every NBA fan has seen the incredible moment Luka danced around Rudy Gobert and made the shot. It added to the incredible collection of moments the Mavericks star has built over his career:

It’s an incredible moment that highlights just how good Luka is. However, a different ange of the shot reveals just how bad the situation was for Minnesota:

to have Jaden McDaniels react in such a way is hilarious and also alarming for the Timberwolves. They knew that Luka would target Gobert for the game winner, and they did everything in their power to prevent that from happening. However, they had to watch Gobert play as if he were on skates during the entire sequence.

Fans also chimed in on how hilarious McDaniels looked, per The Spun’s Daniel Bates:

“This is why it’s a fallacy to always name a center as Defensive Player of the Year. They really can’t truly ‘guard.’ So they should have another category called Rim Protector of the Year,” said journalist Mike Missanelli.

“In the close-up shot it looks like McDaniels just exits stage left after he realizes they are about to lose,” Craig Miller commented.

“This is the funniest thing I saw Inna minute,” a user tweeted.

“Bro knew that switch was not supposed to happen lol,” a fan laughed.

Luka finished Game 2 with 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists. It’s reasonable to think that he’ll continue posting such numbers unless the Minnesota Timberwolves come up with a way to contain him in Game 4.
