Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Moe Wagner apologized on Twitter Tuesday night for liking a pro-George Zimmerman tweet in the past.

A tweet Wagner had “liked” defended Zimmerman, the man who was at the center of the death of Trayvon Martin and subsequent trial. The tweet he had liked spun Zimmerman in a positive light, defending Zimmerman for the killing of Martin and the way he has sold paraphernalia since to make money.

After his “like” started receiving attention online Tuesday, Wagner apologized.

There seems to be renewed attention surrounding Wagner because he is one of the few players under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers and currently part of trade rumors.

Wagner has liked nearly 1,200 items on his Twitter account. Now 22, the former Michigan Wolverines big man was in Germany when Zimmerman was shot and tried for Martin’s death.
