Detroit Pistons president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon has lofty expectations for Cade Cunningham this upcoming season, so much so that he has made an early MVP case for his franchise player.

Fresh from his first NBA All-Star selection and after guiding the Detroit Pistons to their first playoff appearance since 2019, Cunningham will be tasked with continuing to lead the team to new heights.

“MVP is something he wants to strive for,” Langdon said about Cunningham on NBA TV. “He’s working to get in better shape, working on that three-ball a little bit more. There’s so much to his game – the versatility.”

“I think getting a taste of the postseason against a really good Knicks team is driving not only him but this whole group…He gained the respect of all the young guys and the vets coming in, and they know that this is his team,” he added.

The Detroit Pistons continue to build around Cade Cunningham by adding Caris LeVert and Duncan Robinson while giving Paul Reed a two-year contract extension, and it seems they are not done yet.

According to Forbes’ Evan Sidery, the Detroit Pistons are among those reportedly interested in adding Chris Boucher to their squad via the veteran’s minimum.

“The Lakers, Pistons, Sixers, Trail Blazers, and Warriors are among the teams who have checked in on Boucher. Boucher averaged 10 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 36.3% on 3s for the Raptors,” Sidery posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).
