Who knew that the possibility of seeing both Paul George and LeBron James in the same team could have come up? The former Oklahoma City Thunders, now playing for the LA Clippers , could have partnered up with LeBron at the Cleveland Cavaliers – if former Cavaliers swingman Dahntay Jones is to be believed.
Before ending up in OKC with the likes of Russell Westbrook , PG was set to make a move to Cleveland. So much so, that the star had also talked about the details a few months ago in his podcast Podcast P, where he gave a thought on what teaming up with the “King” would have meant.
George said:
Bro I thought I was going to Cleveland. Cleveland was like close to getting me with ‘Bron there. Not a lot of people know that.
A few months later, the topic was back again in the conversation in their latest episode of the podcast, during which Dahntay Jones said he was the one who wanted to recruit George to Cleveland before LeBron got involved. He then explained:
Honestly and truthfully, Bron was a fan of PG too.
PG almost joined LeBron in Cleveland, and no one had more influence on it than Dahntay Jones

LeBron and Paul had a few meetings prior to his move to OKC where he genuinely envisioned himself teaming up with the now Lakers man. And it was Dahntay Jones who looked serious about making that deal happen. Unfortunately for both, it was just a big dream. A dream that, who knows, could even have changed the NBA.
After Paul George revealed his intentions to join the Cavaliers with LeBron a few years, ago, fans were shocked at the news. They had praise for Dahntay Jones’ efforts on almost making the deal come through. While it never happened, the idea of it being on the table caught a lot of attention from fans.
With the clip surfacing the internet, fans couldn’t help but react to the idea that almost went through. Some reactions are given below:

People think it was LeBron going to Cleveland was a tuff decision. It was but it was a no brainer.

PG, Kyrie, Wall, DeMar were averaging roughly the same points. Adding LeBron to either of them would have come out of the East.
So him returning to Cavs wasn't a tough decision
Although the hypothetical scenario left basketball enthusiasts yearning for what could have been, it still leaves the topic open on the possibility of both being a formidable duo on the court. But we might never know, with LeBron now 39 years old.
