The Milwaukee Bucks are entering a new era with Myles Turner as a prominent member of the team. He is looking forward to the dynamic between himself and his superstar teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The NBA community felt shocked when the Milwaukee Bucks signed Myles Turner in free agency. Considering Turner was only in the NBA Finals with the Indiana Pacers, most people expected him to return. He played for the Pacers for 10 years, dealing with constant trade rumors, but left after they lost.
Turner took notice when Giannis Antetokounmpo contacted him. He jumped at the opportunity of playing alongside a two-time MVP who led the team to a championship. As a result, the Bucks bought out Damian Lillard’s contract to afford Turner’s four-year $108.9 million contract.
Now, the new Milwaukee big man is excited to play with the Greek superstar and is ecstatic about their dynamic.
With Turner joining the Bucks, he will be a fantastic player alongside Antetokounmpo. They have been successful running a frontcourt of Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez for a long time.
With Turner, they have a younger and possibly better version of Lopez due to his shot-blocking and three-point shooting. Antetokounmpo will miss Lopez, but this is a welcome change for the Bucks.
Turner is also not the most impressive rebounder, as he tends to focus on contesting shots. During his Pacers days, he faced criticism for not ending defensive possessions with a rebound. Now, he will be playing alongside Antetokounmpo, an elite rebounder.

“You couldn’t have a more perfect fit. He can switch on defense. He can roam. Play multiple positions. He can shoot, stretch the defense. We got younger. He’s younger than Giannis” pic.twitter.com/cYtoBFu5Wr
At the same time, the 29-year-old will also benefit offensively. He is not only getting a green light to shoot threes, but he will also be in the dunker spot. Antetokounmpo loves going downhill on drives and making drop passes to his frontcourt partner. If Turner converts well in the paint, that should be a good sign for the Bucks’ offense under Doc Rivers.
“We texted back just a little bit, but he was on vacation, and I was on vacation, so I know how that go.
“I’m sure we’re gonna talk here in the weeks to come. I’ve played against Giannis for quite some time now,” Turner said in his introductory press conference about his communication with Antetokounmpo.
“You know, four, five times a year, and a couple years ago, we played them nine, 10 times or whatever it was. Very familiar with his game, and what he’s capable of.”
“He’s someone that is able to push the ball, get out in transition, create for the people, he’s developed a jumper. I mean, obviously, defensively, his intangibles are there. And yeah, I think our fit is going to be a pretty cohesive fit.”
With Turner now on the roster, the Bucks look different from the previous season. They maintained some of the players from the 2024-25 season, but it feels like a refreshed team. Antetokounmpo is still the team’s superstar, and the Bucks will heavily rely on his play.

The offense is not as powerful as it was before Lillard’s exit. However, Antetokounmpo can pull off some amazing things that could help this team compete. The Bucks are not favorites to win the Eastern Conference, as the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers are superb. However, the Bucks will hang in there and possibly pull off some big upsets.
A good 2025-26 season for the Bucks will not surprise people aware of their potential. They won’t have an elite point guard anymore, but this is a deeper team than most realize. With Antetokounmpo as head of the snake and Turner as his running mate, this Bucks team can surprise people.
