The 2026 NBA All-Star Game had a different format than what we are used to. The event featured three 12‑minute round‑robin matchups between two U.S. squads and one World squad, all battling for a spot in a winner‑take‑all finale.
Both American teams advanced, setting up an all‑U.S. championship, where Team Stars rolled past Team Stripes 47-21 to capture the first-ever international All‑Star tournament title.
Anthony Edwards earned MVP honors after a strong showing across all three games. He opened with 13 points in Team Stars’ victory over Team World, followed by an 11‑point effort in the loss to Team Stripes.
In the championship matchup, he added eight points, four rebounds, and two assists to help power Team Stars to the title.
It’s unclear how fans feel about this new All-Star format. If they enjoyed it, we may see it stay. If not, the NBA will likely go back to the drawing board.
