NBA Analyst Takes Shot At Denver Nuggets’ Jamal Murray
Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray was stellar in the team’s first-round series against the Los Angeles Lakers. He won two games with buzzer-beaters, including the walk-off in Game 5 to eliminate the Lakers from the 2024 NBA Playoffs.

However, in Round 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, it has been much tougher sledding for the Denver Nuggets and Jamal Murray. They find themselves in a 2-0 hole despite the series opening up on their home court.

Denver has not been able to find their footing against a very good Timberwolves defense. They have stifled the entire team to this point, especially Murray. In Game 1, he was 6-for-14 and -22. Game 2, he was 3-for-18 with four turnovers and was -16.

Emotions were running high as the Nuggets were struggling on the court. In a lapse of judgment, Jamal Murray tossed a heating pad he was wearing while on the bench at one of the referees on the court.

During a segment on ESPN’s Get Up this morning, the indecent with Murray was a talking point. Former NBA sharpshooter turned analyst Tim Legler tore into him, suggesting with certainty that a suspension is coming. On top of that, he also found time to poke fun at the Game 2 performance of the Nuggets guard.

“He was 3-for-18. I’m not shocked he missed Marc Davis with that heat pack,” Legler said.

Legler is certainly spot on with his assessment of the situation, down to the joke he made at Jamal Murray’s expense. Murray has been battling through an injury, but he has been a detriment to his team while on the court, as he couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat in the middle of an ocean Monday night.

Murray and the Denver Nuggets will look to turn things around in Game 3 when the series shifts to Minnesota. He will get some much-needed rest, as the teams won’t take the court again until Friday night.
