James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers have been one of the bigger surprises of the 2024-25 NBA season.

Even without Kawhi Leonard for a majority of their games, the Clippers have managed a 24-19 record, good for sixth place in the West.

On Thursday, Harden and the Clippers looked to end a two-game drought as they hosted the Washington Wizards.

Coming into the game, the former MVP had recorded 78 triple-doubles, tied for the eighth-most in NBA history with Los Angeles Lakers legend Wilt Chamberlain.

Against the Wizards, Harden was able to pick up another triple-double, his second of the season and the 79th of his career. In doing so, Harden now passes Chamberlain to take sole possession of eighth place on the all-time triple-doubles list.

The NBA congratulated Harden for his latest achievement with a post on X.

"Congrats to @JHarden13 of the @LAClippers for moving to 8th on the all-time TRIPLE-DOUBLES list!"

Some NBA fans were left impressed with Harden's latest feat, also taking to social media to leave their thoughts.

"Congratulations Jhardens.......You deserve this," one fan said.

"The year of moving to Top 10 in most all time list," wrote another.

"Harden is a G.O.A.T,' added a third.

Other fans felt the need to drag other players on the list into the comments, such as Denver Nuggets stars Nikola Jokic and Russell Westbrook.

"Never gonna catch Westbrook," one fan wrote.

"Nahhh, Jokic is getting closer everyday," commented a second.

"Wilt would’ve been higher if they tracked blocks when he played," posted a third.

Harden now trails Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (80) by one triple-double for the No. 7 spot. Right ahead of Doncic on the all-time list is his own head coach, Jason Kidd (107).

Following the Wizards game, the Clippers will conclude their five-game homestand with a battle against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. Then, they will hit the road for a four-game trip.
