NBA best bet: Don't miss out on this one-game parlay for Clippers vs. Nets

Just about a month ago Brooklyn was finally starting to play like the team most expected. The Nets were a season-best 14 games above .500, the locker-room drama was at a minimum — at least for the Nets’ standards — and Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were finally starting to look like the best duo in the NBA.

But so much for that. Irving has been dealt to the Mavericks, Durant is still hurt, and the Nets are 5-7 over their last 12 games. And that’s why we’re all about the Clippers on Monday night against the Nets in this one-game parlay.

One of the main reasons why the Clippers are back to their winning ways is because of Kawhi Leonard. Leonard dropped 35 in Saturday’s overtime win over the Knicks, and has scored 30+ points in three of the Clippers’ last four games. Leonard is no longer on a minutes restriction like he was in the beginning of December, and most importantly, looks pretty close to 100%. We know Leonard has been back for over a month now, but his timing and conditioning wasn’t quite there.

However, that’s not the case anymore. And that’s why the most confident leg of out OGP is for Leonard to score at least 20 points. Leonard has scored at least 20 points in 14 of his last 16 games, and prior to scoring just 17 points on Thursday night against the Bucks, Leonard had scored at least 20 points in 11 straight games.

As for the second leg of our OGP, count on the Clippers to score at least 105 points. Los Angeles averages 111 points a game and has scored at least 105 points in back-to-back games and seven of its last nine. Not to mention Brooklyn has allowed 105 or more points in 10 of its last 12 games and have allowed 125+ points in back-to-back games. Don’t expect LA to score 120 on Monday, but 105 is pretty much a guarantee.

And lastly, take the Clippers to win by at least three via the alternate spread line. LA probably wins by at least five, but we’re going to be conservative here. Each of Brooklyn’s last 13 losses have been by four or more points and without Durant or Irving on Monday, all we can say is good luck.

LA leads the Western Conference in points allowed per game, and unless Cam Thomas scores a career-high 44 points like he did on Saturday for Brooklyn, don’t be surprised if the Nets struggle to get to the century mark. Things should get a little easier for Brooklyn once Durant returns, but until then, continue to bet against the Nets.

Los Angeles Clippers (-2.5), Los Angeles Clippers (over 104.5 points) AND Kawhi Leonard (over 19.5 points) (-125 odds via BetMGM)
