NBA best bets: Don't miss this same-game parlay on Pelicans-Mavericks

Thursday’s NBA slate is small, but don’t fret, we’ve got one game we love on the same-game parlay front. The New Orleans Pelicans have officially hit rock bottom, and Luka Doncic is simply on another level. So do yourself a favor and ride the Mavericks on the moneyline against the Pelicans on Thursday night and take Doncic to finish with at least 25 points and six assists.

It wasn’t all that long ago where New Orleans was third in the West, but since Zion Williamson went down in early January, things have gotten bad. Real bad. The Pelicans have dropped a season-high nine straight games and are now 9-14 without Zion this season.

And it’s not like the Pelicans are losing a bunch of close games. They’re getting smoked. Two of New Orleans’ last three losses have been by double digits, and seven of their last 11 defeats have been by 10 or more points. Not good.

Meanwhile, Dallas has won two of its last three games and despite only being 27-25 on the year, the Mavs are 18-9 at home. So, with New Orleans slumping and Dallas killing it at home, riding the Mavericks on the moneyline is a must.

Doncic is second in the league in points per game and has scored 25+ points in 10 of his last 12 games. Doncic also dropped a season-high 53 points on Monday against Detroit and has scored at least 29 points in five of his last six games.

However, despite Doncic averaging a career high in points per game, he’s still getting it done as a distributor, too. Doncic is averaging over eight assists a night and has recorded at least five assists in eight of his last 10 games. Doncic might not be the frontrunner for MVP, but he’s unequivocally a top 10 player in the league. And more importantly, a near guarantee to finish with 25 points and six assists on Thursday against New Orleans.
