NBA best bets: Wiesguy's 2 Picks and a Prop for 2/1

We are looking to get back to winning again tonight (1-2 last night). NBA injury reports are becoming a total joke and I am not sure what to do about it. Waiting until tip-off is just non-tenable in most situations.

Cleveland was a big letdown last night. If they want to be considered a contender those are games they have to win. Fortunately, Jarrett Allen did soften the blow though.

We have eight games to choose from. It would have been nine but we got a rare weather postponement with Detroit stuck in Dallas.

NBA Sides:  22-15-1

NBA Props: 11-8

Winning Days: 13 (of 19)

NBA Picks in Review: Tuesday, January 31

Cleveland Cavaliers -4.5 (loss)
The Cavs were chasing it all game long. They should have closed better at home.

New York Knicks -1.5 (loss)
This one went to OT with the Knicks losing. Anthony Davis was not supposed to play but did.

Jarrett Allen Over 22.5 Points, Rebound and Assists (win)
Allen posted a double-double in the cover though he was -17 for the game.

NBA Picks for Wednesday, February 1

Atlanta Hawks +1 (at Phoenix Suns)
The Suns remain a mystery but one thing that is not a mystery is their depth — it is poor right now. Chris Paul is coming around but he is going to have his hands full with Trae Young. Atlanta has counters for everything that the Suns do and unlike against Toronto, they probably can't rely on Mikal Bridges to have his best game of the season. Atlanta steals this game as a small underdog on the road.

Houston Rockets +6 (vs Oklahoma City Thunder)
Lu Dort is out (or is supposed to be) for the Thunder tonight. He is not their best player but he is their best defender and a guy you want on the floor when facing a team like Houston. OKC has been very solid on the road this season but all of those ATS wins were as an underdog. When you look at how they have done as a road favorite, you see they are 0-3 SUATS. They probably win, but Houston will challenge them tonight.

NBA Prop

D'Angelo Russell over 27.5 Points Rebounds and Assists
Russell was awful in the Timberwolves' last game, a loss to Sacramento. With Golden State in town, I am banking on a return to high levels of production from Minnesota's lead guard. He has eclipsed this total in five of his last seven games and when he is on he gets there on points alone. The pace of play will help too.
