NBA Champion Reportedly Signs With Team In China
USA TODAY Sports

Dominique Jones was initially a first-round pick in the 2010 NBA Draft (25th) by the Memphis Grizzlies.

The 34-year-old played three years of college basketball for South Florida and, during his senior season, averaged an impressive 21.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.7 steals per contest while shooting 45.0% from the field and 31.1% from the three-point range.

Jones most recently played in the NBA during the 2013 season when he appeared in 29 regular season games for the Dallas Mavericks and averaged 4.0 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists per contest while shooting 36.7% from the field.

Recently, Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype reported that Jones has signed with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers.

Despite being a first-round pick, Jones only played in three seasons in the NBA (all with the Mavs).

He had career averages of 3.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest while shooting 36.6% from the field in 80 regular season games.

In addition, Jones was a member of the 2011 Mavs, who won the NBA Championship over LeBron James and the Miami Heat.

At this point, it's likely that Jones will not return to the NBA, but he has been able to have an outstanding pro career.

This past year, he played in 38 games for the Jilin Northeast Tigers and averaged a sensational 27.9 points, 11.2 rebounds, 10.9 assists and 2.6 steals per contest while shooting 45.9% from the field.

Over 315 games in the CBA, he has a career average of 31.3 points per contest.
