The 2025 NBA Draft Lottery was a wild one. While the Dallas Mavericks made the improbable jump up to the No. 1 overall pick and the likely selection of Cooper Flagg, the San Antonio Spurs also jumped up to secure the No. 2 pick.

For the Spurs, the jump gave them a lot of options. They could add another top-tier young talent to go alongside Victor Wembanyama long-term, or they could use the pick as trade bait.

Could San Antonio actually look to create a package with the No. 2 pick as a centerpiece for Milwaukee Bucks' superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo?

Heading into the offseason, Antetokounmpo is reportedly "open-minded" about the idea of being traded to another team. The Spurs happen to be one of the most plausible trade destinations.

San Antonio now has the No. 2 pick, future draft capital, and young players who could intrigue the Bucks.

What could a potential trade package look like? The Spurs have a lot of different ways they could frame it.

Obviously, the No. 2 pick would be included in any trade package for Antetokounmpo. Along with that pick, San Antonio has pieces like Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan, Devin Vassell, and other young pieces as well.

Thinking about a one-two punch of Wembanyama and Antetokounmpo would be nearly impossible to stop. Both players have elite size and skill-sets to go along with top-tier athleticism.

During the 2024-25 NBA season, Antetokounmpo put together massive numbers. He played in 67 regular season games, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game.

Adding that kind of firepower alongside Wembanyama would give the Spurs a legitimate chance to be an NBA Finals contender.

Either way San Antonio chooses to go, the draft lottery gave them a much better chance to get back into title contention. A player like Ace Bailey could fit nicely with the Spurs, but pulling off a blockbuster trade for Antetokounmpo makes perfect sense for both San Antonio and the "Greek Freak."
