The NBA has fined Magic guard Desmond Bane $25,000 for throwing the game ball “with force into the spectator stands,” the league announced.
The incident came at the end of Orlando’s one-point win over the Lakers on Tuesday. After the buzzer, Bane launched a full-court heave that sailed over the opposite basket, clipped the shot clock and bounced into fans seated behind it.
Video shared by Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel shows the sequence clearly — and the league didn’t find it amusing.

It’s not Bane’s first fine this season, either. Back in December, he was docked $35,000 for firing the ball at Knicks forward OG Anunoby in what the league called an “unsportsmanlike” act. He’s also picked up six technical fouls along the way.
Bane, 27, is in his first season with Orlando after arriving in a summer blockbuster. He’s making $36.7 million this year, so the fine won’t sting financially.
Still, the message is clear: Keep the ball in play.
